Cessna 172M GCMQ

with Penn Yan 180 HP engine

CMQ interior photoThe Borden Flying Club owns and operates a 1974 Cessna 172M with a 180 hp Penn Yan engine. This engine increases the gross take-off weight from the standard 2300 lbs to 2550 providing a useful load, with full fuel, of 885 lbs making this a true four seat airplane. In addition to the extra load, pilots of CMQ will note its greatly increased climb performance. With a light load on a moderate day you can expect to see a climb rate of more than 1000 feet per minute.

GCMQ is equipped with dual comm radios, a single VOR, Mode C transponder and a VFR panel mounted GPS.

Fuel consumption ranges from 7 to 9 gallons per hour. Typical cruise performance is 100 KIAS burning 8 gph providing an endurance of 4 hours from the 38 gallons of usable fuel and still leaving a 30 minute reserve.
