Toronto Centre Briefing
Thursday October 18th, 2007
Cliff's presentation on Toronto ACC last month saw a record turnout with close to thirty people in attendance including 6 guests.
The classroom at Edenvale was filled to capacity for Cliff's presentation.
Everyone came away with a much better understanding of the functions, abilities and limitations that the controllers at Toronto ACC work with.
Cliff had plenty of graphics on hand to help explain how the runways in use at Pearson affect VFR operations in and around Toronto Terminal.
And how our actions as VFR pilots, can effect arrivals and departures at Pearson
I don't think any of us are going to be practicing holding patterns over YSO or YMS at 6,000 feet without contacting Toronto Centre anymore.
Thank you to Cliff for the absolutely riveting evening!
Christmas Party
Friday December 7th, 2007
This year's Christmas dinner party will be on Friday Dec. 7th at Barkley Square Restaurant. The restaurant is located at Hwy #11 (5567 Yonge St) just north of Hwy #89.
This is always a fabulous and well attended event. Not only is it a chance to get together with all the members at
a setting other than the club,
it provides an opportunity to thank our spouses/partners for their support throughout the year.
As in previous year's you can order your tickets
online or by
contacting John Galloway.
Don't wait till the last minute. At last count tickets where over 50% sold through. Avoid disappointment and order your tickets
now
because once they're gone - they're gone!
Flight Crew Recency Requirements
Self-Paced Study Program
As per paragraph
421.05(2)(d)
of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) all pilots must complete
biennial recurrent training program requirements.
One of the ways of doing this is to complete the Transport Canada Self-Paced Study Program which the pilot must then retain.

CMQ Annual Inspection
Starts November 18th, 2007
The annual inspection on CMQ has been scheduled for 18th November through to December 2nd.
The inspection will be done at Edenvale. We do not have any major repairs planned so with a little luck
the inspection may be completed early.
