Club Meeting

Saturday January 26^th

The first club meeting of the New Year is on Saturday January 26^th at 10 a.m. in the Edenvale classroom. Harold Fry, Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) director for Southern Ontario, will be our guest speaker.

Harold will be giving two presentations. The first will be on the Platinum Triangle Poker Run planned for this August. The second will be on upcoming changes to ELT regulations. If you have been following this topic in COPA Flight then you know that these changes will effect us.

Be sure to come out to this our first meeting of 2008 and, as always, feel free to bring along friends and family.

With our move to Edenvale CMQ is no longer kept in a heated hangar which necessitates the need to preheat the airplane whenever the OAT is less that 5°C. This would require a drive to the hangar to turn it on and then wait the 30 min - 3 hours, depending on the temperature, before flying.

Thanks to club member Owen Sneath, all that you have to do is call a cell phone to turn the Tanis heater on. Owen has devised and built a cell phone activated switch that, when called, automatically turns the Tanis heater on.
