News: Club CFS - where are you?

The CMQ copy of the CFS is missing. It has probably been accidentally picked up. That copy should always remain with CMQ. Please check your kit and return it as soon as possible.

At the board meeting this week a few things came up worth mentioning as a reminder.

First, to set the park brake effectively, apply toe brakes while setting the brake.

Second, now the colder weather is here, if needed, be sure the windshield defrost slides on the dash are fully open.

Third, on returning to the airport, if the runway can't be determined, for safety, I like to recommend everyone over fly the airport at 2000 ft AGL to check out the wind sock.
The CAR's states that one may fly at a lower altitude when observing the field for the purpose of inspection.
However it doesn't say how much lower, that's why the 2000 ft AGL, I believe, is the safest way. Then descend on the upwind side to circuit altitude and cross at mid field to join the circuit.
Cheers and happy flying
